MEDITATIONS: Dangers of Being Lukewarm

Scripture text: Revelation 3:14-22

๐Ÿ™‡๐Ÿ™‡โ€โ™‚๏ธ Some Christians brag about their riches and about how long they have been in the church โ›ช even though they are neither committed nor in right โœ… standing ๐Ÿงโ€โ™‚๏ธ with God. (Read vrs 17). Such people never take the word of God seriously. How are such people described in vrs 15-16 and how does God feel about their attitude? Read vrs 17-18 again and itemise other weakness of the church โ›ช in Laodicea and the remedy that the Lord offered. God rebukes and disciplines us so we can repent and turn away from unhelpful attitudes (Read vrs 19).

Question: Are we living a life of “it doesn’t matter”? Where anything and everything goes?

God says in vrs 20 that he is waiting โœ‹ at the door ๐Ÿšช of your heart. He wants to be our friend (vrs 20). Let’s open our hearts for him to come in today.

Prayer: Dear Lord, we are sorry for exhibiting lukewarm attitudes. We open our hearts for you today, make it your dwelling place. ๐Ÿ™

  1. I may not have anything to brag about if the criteria are based on wealth or church attendance. However, I do have much to thank God for. Helping host a refugee from Ukraine our home has been blessed with a wonderful young person who breathes new life everywhere.
