Scripture text: Matthew 17:1-13
How would you have felt if you were one of the three with Jesus on the Mount? Peter, John and James had a rare privilege to see a glimpse of Christ’s glory (vrs 1-3). This was possible because they were close to Jesus.
Question: How close are you to God?
If you desire such privilege to know God, he will show you things that others are not privileged to know, you must walk with him closely; spending quality time with him in prayers and Bible study daily.
Overwhelmed by the splendour and majesty that was revealed, Peter suggested they should remain on the mountain. Read vrs 5-6 again to see God’s purpose for exposing them to this experience and their response (vrs 6)?
Vrs 5 is God’s testimony that Christ is the fullness of God in bodily form and the only one we should listen to.
